02The Box Cup

The Battle
Box Cup.

The first Battle Box Cup was a three-day amateur boxing tournament — an invitational to all fighters who hold an Emirates ID and base themselves in the UAE. The format attracted 275 applicants, whittled down to 117 amateurs who competed in quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the penultimate event of finals on Sunday — crowning 17 Battle Box Cup champions.

Every fighter got the chance to take part in a tournament that felt like a professional fight — with all of the production, rings and stadium feel that comes with being a professional fighter, while still a youth and up-and-coming amateur within the UAE.

"Every amateur fighter that attended said this was the best and well run tournament they had ever competed in, beating international championships they had taken part in."

Battle of Nations: India vs Pakistan
July 17th · 6:00 PM·Meydan Hotel, Dubai

UNLIKE ANYTHING ELSE IN SPORT. India and Pakistan are nuclear-armed neighbours partitioned in 1947. Seventy-five years on, the rivalry is not just sporting — it is cultural, emotional, and felt by hundreds of millions across two continents and every corner of the diaspora.

THE BOXING CHAPTER BEGINS. Bilateral tours stopped in 2007. The scarcity makes every India vs Pakistan matchup feel like a once-in-a-generation event. BATL is changing that — bringing these fighters together at neutral venues and creating the fights fans have always wanted.
